Happy 2006 indeed!
My dissertation was graded with an 8.5, with distinction! So I’m not crazy after all. Seriously though, it is great when you put so much effort, passion and ambition in a project and it is recognized and rewarded. So, it’s done, I’m very happy, and it’s time to move on.
The plan is to use the coming months to visit the people I interviewed and present my research findings to them. This way they earn back the time they invested.
My ambitious goal for 2006 is to focus my consultancy and design work on Brand Driven Innovation projects. So potential clients: call me up ! and check my work here and my resume here.
Next to that I’ll be doing exciting work at the university in Delft, already a number of students are interested in doing brand based product development graduation projects. Can’t wait to work with them. And teaching Brand & Product Strategy and Design Strategy Project is very inspiring and rewarding. Some of the student work can be found in the appendix of my report: new models combining brand thinking with NPD thinking.
This afternoon I’m meeting Donald Norman to talk about the courses I’m teaching. He will be lecturing tomorrow at ‘the experience of everyday things’ at our faculty. Promises to be a exciting exploration of the field between human sciences and design.
And if all’s well I will be attending DMI’s European Conference on Design Leadership. I will get the chance to catch up with many design management friends, amongst others with Ralph Beuker, for whom I’ll be writing a guest post in the very near future.
So stay tuned, and I will keep you posted.
